Eagle River is a community 20 minutes north within the Municipality of Anchorage. Eagle River is a suburb of Anchorage and is between Joint Base Elemndorf Richards (JBER) and Chugach State Park. Much of the community commutes to the Anchorage bowl for work, shopping & events. Eagle River was settled by homesteaders back in 1939 and the post office was established in 1961.
